What is Beach Box?
Beach Box is a complete remake from the ground up of our previous gamejam entry, with many new gameplay/quality of life features.
You can find the previous version here.
Playing the CDI on real hardware or Flycast is ideal. It will not run on all Dreamcast emulators.
Objective of the game
The goal is to survive as long as you can, while collecting coins to spend on upgrades, unlockables, skins, and hats.
There are two dimensions which the player can shift between by pressing the X button, enabling you to collide with both coins and walls on the same dimension.
The green wall can only be passed by using the teleport power purchasable in the shop.

A to jump

L to use the slowdown power

If you want to play on real hardware, you can burn the game to a CD-R or load it up with a GDEMU.

Was pleasantly surprised by the polish in this! Had a lot of fun and can see myself going back to it (thanks to the save feature especially).
Fun gameplay and enjoyed all the VMU work.
Took me a minute to get used to the dimensions button not being a toggle, and eventually felt like I was straining focusing my eyes on the player a little, but good fun in short blasts!
love beach box and im excited theres more content this time! i did notice coins are only in the foreground now though so i dont really use the background mechanic anymore
